BIOCRYL RAPIDE™ Biocomposite Material
BIOCRYL RAPIDE™ Biocomposite Material
BIOCRYL RAPIDE™ is a biocomposite material. A proprietary Micro-Particle Dispersion (MPD) manufacturing process provides a homogenous dispersion of the composite materials*, while ensuring β-TCP is in close apposition with the surrounding bone tissues.
* Non-homogeneous composites may result in a material with compromised or variable strength properties due to stress risers within the material.
Features & Benefits
One Material, Multiple Implant Options
DePuy Synthes Mitek Sports Medicine offers a BIOCRYL RAPIDE™ Family of Implants consisting of suture anchors and interference screws.
BioComposite 70% PLGA/30% β-TCP
Resorbable Co-Polymer of Poly-L-Lactic Acid and Poly-Glycolic Acid (PLGA) plus β-TriCalcium Phosphate (β-TCP) displayed faster absorption than L-PLA in vitro.1
Resorbable & May Promote Bony Ingrowth2,3
In long-term human imaging studies, BIOCRYL RAPIDE™ biocomposite material (Poly-lactide co-glycolide/beta-TCP) has been shown to absorb and promote bone formation within the implant profile.2
Pure Medical Grade β-TCP
β-TCP without added fillers.
Micro Particle Dispersion Technology (MPD)
MPD is a proprietary manufacturing process that ensures a homogenous blend of β-TCP and PLGA particles. Dispersion of the composite particles is critical to the material properties.1
β-TCP enables the implant to be visible on x-ray.
MILAGRO® ADVANCE Interference Screw
The MILAGRO® ADVANCE Interference Screw utilises an advanced screw design that offers exceptional bone engagement and rapid insertion.1 It comes in BIOCRYL RAPIDE® Biocomposite Material as well as PEEK Material.
HEALIX ADVANCE™ Anchor
HEALIX ADVANCE™ Anchor with dual thread technology is designed to provide optimal fixation, demonstrated through high pullout strength. The multi-thread design enhances speed for faster anchor advancement into the bone.
INTRAFIX™ ADVANCE Tibial Fastener System
INTRAFIX™ ADVANCE Tibial Fastener System is a tibial fixation device designed to maximize the strength and stiffness of an ACL reconstruction using soft tissue grafts. Based on the original INTRAFIX™ System, the INTRAFIX™ ADVANCE System has redesigned implants and instrumentation for greater ease of use and reliability.
GRYPHON® Suture Anchors
GRYPHON® BR Anchor is a Composite (PLGA/TCP) absorbable suture anchor preloaded on a disposable inserter assembly intended for fixation of one or two strands of #2 suture to bone. The implant is provided sterile ready to use.
