Heather gets back in the saddle following transformative knee replacement surgery

Heather Taylor, a lifelong horse-rider, faced numerous challenges that tested her spirit. After a horse-riding accident in 2016 resulted in a life-threatening neck injury, Heather embarked on a difficult journey of recovery. Her determination led her back into the saddle, until another unfortunate accident in 2021 left her with an "external fixator" frame on her leg for nearly two years and battling with PTSD.

Seeking a path to recovery, Heather sought the expertise of consultant orthopaedic surgeon, Mr. Lutz Koch, from Pontefract. Under his care, Heather underwent a life-changing total knee replacement using the Attune™ Knee System.

Since the surgery, Heather's life has been transformed. She has resumed her beloved horse-riding activities and volunteers with the charity, 'Changing Lives through Horses'. Drawing from her own experiences, Heather helps individuals facing adversities by connecting them with the therapeutic power of horse-riding.

Driven by her newfound lease on life, Heather is currently pursuing her exams with the British Horse Society (BHS) to achieve the distinguished status of a fellow. Her ultimate goal is to become an assessor for BHS, guiding and inspiring aspiring horse-riders on their own journeys.

From overcoming obstacles to restoring mobility with the revolutionary Attune™ Knee System, Heather's story highlights the pivotal role of health tech in reshaping lives.
