Mary’s Story

What was life like before joint replacement? 
It was painful to walk. I had to curtail my activities, such as water aerobics, line dancing and fishing, a great deal.

What was the turning point for you?
My turning point was when I saw the X-rays of my knee showing bone on bone. I knew then why I was having so much pain. 

What is life like now?
It has been 10 weeks since my surgery, and I am walking without a walker or cane. I can ascend and descend stairs, and I can pedal forward and backward on a stationary bicycle. I continue to follow a daily exercise regime, and I am continuing to improve.
