ECHELON™ Gripping Surface Technology Reloads
The flexibility to select the right reload for each patient’s unique tissue is critical. With ECHELON™ Gripping Surface Technology (GST) Reloads, you get exceptional staple line integrity—across the broadest range of tissue thicknesses1-5A. For use with the ECHELON™ 3000 Stapler, ECHELON™+ Stapler, or ECHELON FLEX™ ENDOPATH™ Staplers.
About this device
Laparoscopic stapler reloads, each designed to accommodate the broadest range of tissue thicknesses.1B While our reload colors stay the same, the technology behind them keeps advancing, expanding the range of tissue thickness each reload color can handle.C Overlapping tissue thickness ranges assist in accommodating varying thicknesses with confidence, providing the flexibility to tailor your approach to each procedure’s unique requirements.7
Specialties
Colorectal, Thoracic, Bariatric, Urologic, General
Procedures
LAR, Colectomy, Lobectomy, Wedge Resection, Segmentectomy, Sleeve Gastrectomy, Gastric Bypass, Revisions
Optimizing reload selection
Focusing on tissue thickness instead of reload color gives surgeons flexibility to better match the unique tissue of the patient and procedure. GST Reloads offer choices that can match tissue thickness and each surgeon’s preference.7D
- For a drier staple line, you can “step down” and select a reload with a tighter closed staple height that is still within the range of the intended tissue thickness.
Verifying tissue thickness range
Whether tissue thickness is at the top or bottom of a GST Reload color’s range, surgeons will get exceptional staple line integrity.3-6A
Ranges are verified using:
- Benchtop testing in a variety of gastric tissue thicknesses to attain good staple formation
- 700+ firings across the 45mm and 60mm devices

Gripping surface technology
Proprietary pocket extensions grip and stabilize tissue during firing for controlled tissue movement compared to Tri-Staple reloads.8-13E

More uniform compression
Delivered 32% more uniform staple line compression compared to Medtronic Staplers with Tri-Staple™ Reloads.14F More uniform staple lines may reduce the risk of bleeding.

ECHELON™+ Stapler with GST Reloads
The ECHELON™+ Stapler is a powered laparoscopic stapler with exceptional staple line integrity across the broadest range of tissue thicknesses.1,2A It advances staple line security to deliver fewer leaks at the staple line and better staple formation, even in challenging conditions.3,4B

ECHELON™ 3000 Stapler
The ECHELON™ 3000 Stapler was designed to accommodate each patient's unique anatomy, providing consistency across every staple line. It enables better access1A and more control2B over each transection, making it easier to tailor procedures to your patient's unique needs.

ECHELON FLEX™ ENDOPATH™ Staplers
The ECHELON FLEX™ ENDOPATH™ Staplers are manually operated laparoscopic surgical devices designed to simultaneously cut and staple tissue. They are intended for use in transection, resection, and the creation of anastomoses. The shaft features 360-degree rotation in both directions, and an articulation mechanism allows the distal end to pivot, enhancing lateral access to the surgical site.1

D. IMPORTANT: If you are witnessing malformed or unformed staples it could be a sign that you are placing too much tissue in the jaw for the reload you have selected.
E. Based on acute and long term evaluations in animate porcine stomach, bowel, lung and vasculature. Visual comparisons of 10-20 second clamp and release and full firing staple lines immediately following, 1hr after clamping, 14 days post op and at necropsy, as well as histological evaluation at 14 days post op, revealed no additional clinically relevant trauma to the tissues.
