About this Device
PROLENE Polypropylene Suture with HEMO-SEAL Technology is a monofilament, synthetic, non-absorbable, sterile surgical suture composed of an isotactic crystalline stereoisomer of polypropylene, a synthetic linear polyolefin. It is available dyed blue with phthalocyanine blue. With the HEMO-SEAL needle suture combination, the diameter of the suture and the needle wire have been more closely aligned to reduce the degree of needle hole bleeding.

Features & Benefits

Less Needle Hole Bleeding
Tapered suture. 1-to-1 needle-to-suture ratio. HEMO-SEAL Technology narrows the PROLENE suture at the needle attachment site, which results in the remainder of the suture having a reduced needle-to-suture ratio. This enhanced ratio allows the bulk of the suture to adequately fill the needle hole, leading to a significant reduction in needle hole bleeding.1

Reliability of PROLENE™
HEMO-SEAL™ Technology uses the same PROLENE™ suture you trust, but offers reduced needle hole leakage. PROLENE Sutures are nonabsorbable, sterile surgical sutures available undyed or pigmented blue to enhance visibility. PROLENE Sutures are relatively biologically inert, offering proven strength, reliability, and versatility.2

Strength of EVERPOINT™
PROLENE with HEMO-SEAL utilize EVERPOINT™ Cardiovascular Needles, which offer outstanding penetration,3 up to a 38% increase in strength and up to a 121% increase in bend resistance than conventional stainless steel needles.4
