The MEGADYNE™ Telescoping Smoke Evacuation Soft Tissue Dissector delivers monopolar tissue dissection and smoke evacuation in a single device.1 It is designed for use with the MEGADYNE™ Smoke Evacuation System.
About this device
MEGADYNE™ Telescoping Smoke Evacuation Soft Tissue Dissectors conduct an electrosurgical current from an electrosurgical unit (ESU) and delivers it to the target tissue to achieve the desired surgical effect. The electrosurgical active electrodes are intended to conduct radio frequency (RF) current for cutting and coagulation from the ESU to target soft tissue in a broad range of surgical procedures requiring the use of electrosurgery for cutting and cauterization.1

Less thermal damage
GEM Technology offers a smarter approach to electrosurgery. By fluctuating power based on tissue impedance, it is designed to minimize thermal damage2,3A and delivers a scalpel-like cutting effect.2,4A The constant power delivery of standard monopolar electrosurgery may lead to increased tissue trauma.

Minimize surgical smoke
Designed to efficiently capture smoke at the source,1 this device produced 99.6% less surgical smoke compared to stainless steel monopolar electrosurgery with 97% reduction in BaP, a known carcinogen, and 75% reduction in phenanthrene, a known irritant.5B

Multifunctional
This multifunctional tool can be used for incision, dissection, and coagulation, which may increase surgical efficiency.6 The telescoping shaft extends up to 6” for access to deep surgical cavities.7
