Dr. Dave Longcope is a board-certified colorectal surgeon in private practice in Denver, Colorado. He specializes in the surgical management of colon and rectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, and diverticular disease, with a strong focus on laparoscopic and minimally invasive techniques. Dr. Longcope completed medical school at the University of Vermont, followed by a general surgery residency at SUNY Syracuse and advanced colorectal surgery fellowship training at the Mayo Clinic.
He performs a full spectrum of colorectal procedures, primarily through laparoscopic and select robotic approaches. Dr. Longcope is an experienced medical educator and industry collaborator with extensive expertise in Ethicon technologies, including Echelon staplers, Ethicon Circular Staplers, and the Harmonic 1100. He actively participates in educational programs such as expert-to-expert engagements, roundtables, webinars, colorectal surgery video series, and live virtual case observations.
Outside of clinical practice, Dr. Longcope enjoys tennis and running and is deeply passionate about teaching and advancing surgical education.
