SECURESTRAP™ Absorbable Strap Fixation Device
Tissue capture, penetration and holding strength at multiple deployment angles are important factors when selecting a fixation device for hernia repair. SECURESTRAP™ Absorbable Strap Fixation Device is a market leading fixation device1A designed for acute holding strength at various deployment angles.2,3
About this device
SECURESTRAP Absorbable Strap Fixation Device is available with 25 or 12 synthetic absorbable straps, preloaded into the device’s 36 cm long shaft. The device is designed for introduction and use through a 5 mm or larger laparoscopic port sleeve. The straps are made of a blend of polydioxanone and an L-lactide/glycolide copolymer, with an inserted length of 6.7mm.

Features & benefits

Unique strap design
It has a uniqueB, absorbable “strap” design that uses 2 points of fixation to straddle mesh pores and fibers.4-6 The low-profile strap is designed to reduce exposure to viscera.7

Holding strength
Each strap ‐ from the first to the last ‐ deploys with similar force, providing the reliability you need.8,9 SECURESTRAP™ Absorbable Strap Fixation Device allows for appropriate tissue capture to provide acute holding strength at 30°, 45°, and 60° deployment angles.2,3

Minimal pain
Proven to get patients back to their lives with minimal to no pain.10 In a study of 56 patients from the International Hernia Mesh Registry (IHMR), SECURESTRAP™ Absorbable Strap Fixation Device was shown in a preliminary study of patients from the International Hernia Mesh Registry (IHMR) to be safe and provide an improvement in pain levels compared to baseline level.11
