Impella 5.5® with SmartAssist®

Impella 5.5 with SmartAssist is a surgically implanted heart pump for up to 14 days that is indicated for the treatment of ongoing cardiogenic shock that occurs immediately following AMI, open heart surgery, cardiomyopathy, or myocarditis in adult patients, and in pediatric patients weighing ≥30 kg. Impella 5.5 with SmartAssist unloads the left ventricle and provides the circulatory support necessary to allow heart recovery and early assessment of residual myocardial function.
