Impella CP® with SmartAssist®

Impella CP with SmartAssist is a minimally invasive heart pump indicated for temporary ventricular support during elective or urgent high risk percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), and the treatment of ongoing cardiogenic shock that occurs immediately following AMI, open heart surgery, cardiomyopathy, or myocarditis in adult patients, and in pediatric patients weighing ≥52 kg. Impella CP with SmartAssist reduces left ventricular end-diastolic pressure and volume while providing the circulatory support necessary to allow heart recovery and early assessment of residual myocardial function.

Overview

Impella CP with SmartAssist provides hemodynamic support with peak flows at systole up to 4.3 L/min at P-9. It allows repositioning without imaging in the ICU and has clear alarms for troubleshooting. The setup involves pulling back the anti-contamination sheath, takes approximately 90 seconds, and has fewer steps with fewer connections.
