Surgical Rib Fixation

SRF is a procedure used to help hold an injured rib in place and allow for proper healing. It is increasingly becoming an accepted treatment for severe rib fractures.

MatrixRIB® Fixation System

The MatrixRIB Fixation System is indicated for the fixation and stabilization of rib fractures, fusions and osteotomies (the surgical cutting or removal of bone) of normal and osteoporotic bone.

How It Works

1. The low-profile plates are designed to fit the average curve of the rib and maintain function of the rib cage to allow you to breathe normally.
2. Depending on the location of the fracture(s), the plates can be placed using a minimally invasive technique through a small incision.

The plate is laid across the fracture and fixed in place to allow the bone to heal properly.
