Post-op instructions:

• Analgesia
• Routine post-op blood tests – transfuse as required depending on Hb/clinical status
• Check X-ray (may not be required depending on radiographs obtained intra-operatively)
• Thromboprophylaxis per local guidelines
• Antibiotic prophylaxis per local guidelines
• Mobilization will usually be fully weightbearing unless specific surgical factors require modification of this
• Hip precautions are often not required after anterior approach hip replacement but may include avoiding extension and external rotation depending on surgeon preference and case-specific surgical factors.
